"Morning in Midtown"
16x12" oil --available-- #637 "Oh the Goodness of the World"
18x24" oil - sold- #1704
This painting seems to be about several connected things. It’s obviously about the human female form in dance, in light. It’s also about how beauty in the human tends toward worship. This is no surprise within the Judeo-Christian belief that humans are made in the image of God, and that beauty in the human best leads toward gratitude and the worship of the transcendent Creator God, beyond the ephemeral (like flowers) and momentary human beauty. Also here, something of the marvelous fact that because women exist (and that they are beautiful) we have abundant proof that God loves the world.

full size violin, oil painted - Auctioned at the Charlottesville & University Symphony Orchestra on June 7, 2008 - #808
Here you have an actual painted violin (both sides) conveying something of the beauty of Appalachia in two seasons. The title is meant to raise a question about what music actually is. My daughter Fiona, on the reverse side, joins the music of the spheres in the nearby Blue Ridge mountains.
"Shenandoah Sundown in Autumn"
18x24" oil --available-- #914 "Motherhood"
12x16" oil --sold-- #1517
Stepping out in faith and confidence, as mothers want to do with their first child.
